My laptop fans are screaming, the power just flickered for the third time this afternoon, and I’m staring at a progress bar that hasn't moved in ten minutes. I’m trying to send a 5GB build folder to my teammate who is sitting literally three desks away from me in this Gbagada workstation. We’re on the same Wi-Fi, yet here I am, "uploading" to a server in Virginia just so he can "download" it back to Lagos. It’s ridiculous.

Imagine setting up a cron job on a local server in an Onitsha warehouse to automatically sync inventory logs to a main office machine over an encrypted P2P tunnel. Real World Friction
Of course, no tool is perfect. P2P can be a beast when you’re dealing with aggressive NATs or some of the more "interesting" firewall configurations our local ISPs like to throw at us. I'm curious to see how the relay handles high-latency connections during those peak evening hours when everyone in the neighborhood is streaming movies and the network starts to crawl.
Also, FUSE on Windows can sometimes be a bit of a headache to set up compared to Linux. But the fact that this is open source (MPL-2.0) means we can actually see what's happening under the hood. If there's a bug or a performance bottleneck, we don't have to wait for a "C-suite imperative" to fix it; the community can just get in there.
Bottom Line
We need more tools that prioritize local-first workflows. In a market like ours where internet costs are high and reliability is a luxury, building software that works over the local network first and the internet second is just smart.
I’m definitely going to be throwing this into my workflow the next time I need to move a heavy project. If it saves me from one more "Upload Failed" notification at 99%, it’s already won. Keep building, keep breaking things, and for heaven's sake, stop uploading files to Virginia when your teammate is right next to you.
